We often associate loneliness with those who live alone and do not appear to be in engaged in groups, however since the COVID- 19 outbreak, there has been reports that loneliness in the workplace is also on the rise as result of home working, a change in work patterns and reliance on technology such as emails and team’s calls.

The phrase “work family” is often used and rightly so. We spend a great deal of time with our colleagues and employers so it’s important that we feel supported, valued and part of a team.
How can you combat loneliness in the workplace?
• Create a culture which actively encourages conversations around feelings.
• Promote collaborative working where possible.
• Allow time for working lunches etc
• Always ask for and listen to suggestions
