As many of you know I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2022. My diagnosis was discovered by a routine mammogram as part of the breast screening programme. Without attending this routine screening, my future would be very different.
A number of routine screening appointments are missed and one of the reasons for this is that employees will not ask or can’t afford to take time off from work to attend the screenings.
The JG HR Pledge will get employers to actively support employees to attend breast screening by:
· Giving paid time off to attend routine breast screening appointments.
· Regularly talk about cancer with the support of professionals.
